Showing posts with the label promises to myself

Friday

Was a marathon that ended with lights flashing and lots of money spent. I give up.

Things learned this week

Starting small deflates the dream bubble to reality size.  It's easy to have a grandiose plan, but when you realize it means dedicated work, that's the kicker. Achieving the second lap is both harder and easier than the first.  The first time your excitement carries the day. The following times are just staying true to your promise. Finishing something you haven't done in a long while feels good, even if no one ever knows but you. :)

Remember

Do you remember the feel of that moment when your hand brushed mine and grabbed hold? I smile thinking of that moment long ago. We were both open to the moment then and yet now we seem so closed.

Verbatim

God has a funny sense of humor sometimes.   Hearing the exact words you said to Him repeated back to you from someone else's mouth a couple of hours later is an odd feeling.

Asking

Tonight I'm asking God for God sized impossibilities.

Fifth

Presents aren't always boxed. Nice.ly.

Time

I feel that the 1st 3 days of this week have been a month long.

Thoughts for you

There is some darkness the night cannot hold. . My God is big enough. . What a tiny pebble this must seem to Him. . Do you know what I know? . Capture those thoughts that hide in the darkness. Take them prisoners and torture them with light.

Tired a bit, maybe

The tiredness just hits me, sweeps my feet out from under me and humbles me more completely Than most things. . I almost ran into the back of a truck on the way home because I fell asleep that quickly. Between one blinking and the next. It was time to quit driving. . Overall camp was impressive.  GOD is always extra good to us while we are there. Praying that everyone remembers to seek Him at home. . I can't wait to fall asleep again.

Camp

Love being here. Hate being gone at the same time. Thankfulness to God for His plans.

Family

Glad for my family this weekend.  Thankful the kids got to go to an amazing camp and make new friends. Blessed with Godly parents. Both my Mom and my Dad are truly great people. Praying for healing for those who don't have that experience. Being a good parent is harder than you think.

Backwards

Sometimes you have to look back in order to be hilariously happy about what God has saved you from. :D That's perhaps the best way I can describe the feeling I have inside after last weekend. . Last weekend I took a trip to visit some of my greatest lifelong friends.  It was a blessing and exactly what I needed. Loved catching up with all my friends and learning what God was doing for them. It was sad sweet to see some of them aging but so happy in their relationship with Jesus. . God answered prayers for perfect weather for our crawfish boil. I've never been to a boil before, but it was delicious. Learned how to peel my own crawfish. :D Ate until I had enough and still they had piles left over. . Along the way I saw some "old acquaintances". I'm so relieved that God provided exactly what they needed.  Isn't God amazing! And I'm also so happy that God set me free from that happening. . The Sunday service was a huge blessing! God blessed with His presence, ...

Completely complaining

It's not fair. That's what I told God today. Not that it changes anything, But it's what I was feeling. Circumstances may be frustrating, But at least I'm complaining about it to the One who can do something. Thank goodness God is good at listening.

God

I hate this.

Thursday

Keep hearing the Lionel Richie song "Hello" stuck in my head.  Not too bad of an option actually considering I like the song. . Yesterday was a one last aggravating experience. I didn't want to be the one to tell them, but perhaps it's best that I did. It came out well, God helping me, but what are the repercussions I'll be reaping?  . I'm praying for a lot of peace, joy and healing around here today. . The days are busy. They are full of things to consider and do. Something more than I can see right now being so focused on the immediate, but it is back there in my brain processing I'm sure. . Interpretation of what is said vs what is heard can be a BIG problem. Frustrating. Confusing. Etc. Never mind the good intentions behind the words,  sometimes it still hurts. And yet it's usually just in our thoughts.  Bizarre people that we are. . I really wish I had a clue more often. :D

Attached

How do you treat ptsd in a 9yr old? . I've learned a lot in the last 2 years.  What's one more thing?  . Sigh.  Sin sucks and everyone impacted by it is the loser. . The counselor wouldn't make eye contact half the morning.  Bizarre. I felt "handled". Just come out and say what you think. And look at me when you do. . If I did love you, You would never know, you never asked. You never let your thoughts be known. . Attachment? What is that? Only one of the most important things every human needs.  To belong. To be together.  To be family.  To learn how to interact properly. It's bad when it's missing. It affects everything. The effects are negative. . Another new thing I'm learning. . Prayers . My soul finds you, and every second of my horrible day, Is made better because you are present.  . I really don't know how to make it okay. .
Don't be afraid to be great. Matthew 5:19 NLT.So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Burning

Utilizing apple cider vinegar for its antibiotic treatment qualities, even at half strength, is not always pleasant. It burns like fire in the eyes! . The kids had burning questions to ask me this evening.  It's definitely more information than I wish they had knowledge to ask about for at least another few years.  I did answer, but there are just some things you can't fully explain to an 8 and 9 year old no matter what they've actually seen or heard. . Woe is me.  I took on another tax return this year and they are going to OWE MONEY.  It's not my fault, but now I'm trying to wrack my brain for all kinds of remote possibilities for other deductions before I end up breaking the bad news to them.  They are so not going to be happy.  I am so not going to enjoy saying it to them!!! . I have a collection of abandoned pen and pencils.  A new pen, pencil, crayon, or marker makes me very happy.  If I'm having a bad day, or I just want a change, I sometim...

World's End

The world as we knew it is gone. So how do we live now? . A person I know told their spouse today that they wanted a divorce. It was their anniversary. What kind of person does such a thing? . What did you give up for Lent? . Pizza tomorrow night with some of my favorite people. . Ever wonder what you would tell people if you knew you were dying and only could write things?  Who would you write? What would you say? Would you decide to tell people things you never were brave enough to share in person, or would you let everyone live on without the burden of knowing the ignorance they carried while you were still here? I wonder who you would tell secrets and with whom you would make things right? What confessions would you make or what encouragement would you leave? Who would find out that you wished you would have said the words "l love you and I always have"? What would you leave as your memory? . The fence on the side of my house is falling down which pulls the gates post too...
