Why not?

I don't think it's the answer to everything, but "why not?" is intriguing...

I've had several unexpected God appointments lately.  Yesterday afternoon I went to lunch with my trainer, which rarely happens. We decided to go eat at a particular restaurant north of our location and she drove.

After we ordered, and while waiting for our food, we switched tables because the first one was back in a very cold corner. Upon arriving at our new location, a lady across the aisle waved to get our attention. It turned out to be an old friend of my trainer.

During the introduction, my instructor introduced me as a Christian to this complete stranger. I found this to be intriguing. But, moving on. Turns out the lady was waiting on her grandson to meet her for lunch, he was missing, and she had forgotten her phone. We chatted for a couple of seconds and then she left to drive home.

A few seconds later she came back and asked if she could take our offer of loaning a phone to call her daughter who could then call her grandson. Turns out there had been a miscommunication regarding days, but that he was now on his way. We invited her to sit with us while she waited.

She proceeded to tell the story of how God had given her a ministry with international students and that for many years she had been involved with BSF. In fact, she was the one who was responsible for getting my instructor and her husband to attend BSF years ago.

During her story she shared that one of her international students had asked her if she was going to do a Bible study over the summer like she had the year before.  She hadn't been planning that way, but she said she would pray. Then she turned and looked at me and said, "You know what God says don't you? He says 'Well why not?'"

She finished her story, and her Grandson arrived, but did you catch how many things God had to work out in order for me to hear those words?

.

What answer can you give when God says "Well why not?" This I know, there is absolutely nothing you can say against it that doesn't sound entirely foolish and  self centered.  This particularly holds true when you know that He has already promised you that He will provide what is needed if it is something He wants done.
